Featuring local fresh produce, flowers, jams, dried fruits and artisan vinegars, the market brings the best of the farm to the customers. Visitors can also expect exotic foods, jewelry, massage therapy, tea, energy work, and live music and entertainment. Family fun in the form of hula hoop classes, yoga classes, kite flying, food demos, gymnastics and much more will be featured at the Shell Beach Farmers' Market, located at the Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach (corner of Shell Beach Road and Cliff Ave. in Shell Beach). 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

@ Dinosaur Caves
Art in the Park @ Dinosaur Caves is proud to announce its seventh year of promoting local artisans of the Central Coast. This once-a-month event takes place at Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach, along the path where the ocean meets the cliffs, on the first Sunday of every month (except July's will be on Saturday) from May through November with over 100 local artists and craftsmen selling and displaying their work. The art include paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass, textiles, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and more. The Central Coast Railroad Festival (CCRRF) is a broad based festival which focuses on railroading of many types with an eye towards the beauty of the central coast of California.
The Festival is designed to attract the attention of avid and casual rail fans as well as curious folks from across the Western United States. It presents historical, educational and recreational events for locals citizens, the area's large population of second home owners and visitors.
» October 10: City To The Sea Half-Marathon & 5K
Course : Point to point. Starts in quaint downtown San Luis Obispo and heads south, continuing on beautiful country roads to picturesque Shell Beach Road. The last two miles are slightly downhill with a stunning ocean view. The race finishes in Pismo Beach at Dinosaur Caves Park. The course has slight inclines/declines and runs only a few feet downhill to sea level.
No pets or stroller/joggers allowed on the half-marathon course. Considerations made for runners with special needs. The course is suitable for wheelchair athletes.
5K Health Walk: The course is an out and back paved course starting at Dinosaur Caves and following the ocean front through Shell Beach. No pets allowed on the course. Baby stroller/joggers are permitted (5K only).
Safety: The course will only be open for three hours. Walkers must finish within that time to participate in the half-marathon. Walkers who start before the race starting time will not be allowed through the finish chute.

» October 10: Friends of Price House Annual Ice Cream Social
Friends of the Price House will celebrate its 14th Annual Ice Cream Social at Price Historical Park, 100 Rancho Pismo Drive, Pismo Beach (James Way to Highland Dr. to Rancho Pismo Dr.) from noon to 3:00pm. The event is co-hosted by Central Coast Railroad Festival. Free scoop of ice cream for kids accompanied by an adult (while supplies last), food and kids' games. Join the fun in downtown Pismo Beach. A parade on Saturday morning kicks off this annual event. Followed by a clam dig, music and food. Famous Clam Chowder Cook-off.
» October 29-31: Jubilee By The Sea Jazz Festival
This traditional Dixieland Jazz Festival with it's oceanfront setting, offers a weekend of music, dancing, as well as 20 bands from the U.S. and Canada. Great Clam Chowder and Santa Maria Style BBQ.
» October 30: Pumpkins on the Pier
The special Halloween celebration, “Pumpkins on the Pier,” will take place from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Pismo Beach Pier. A Trick or Treat Extravaganza will take place from noon-2 p.m. in local downtown businesses. Children 12 and under can participate in a costume contest and a guess-the-weight-of-the-pumpkin contest . There will be pumpkin decorating, a climbing wall, bounce house, balloon typhoon, face painting, carnival games, D.A.R.E., Fire Truck, and lots of excitement. The Costume Contest will start around 11:30 a.m., ending at 12:10 p.m. The costume categories include: most original, scariest, funniest, and most decked out. An adult costume contest will follow. The Pismo Beach Recreation Division and the Pismo Beach Business Improvement Group (B.I.G.) sponsor this free event.
